Bangladesh has a tropical monsoon climate with three main seasons: a hot, humid summer (March–May) with temperatures reaching 30–35°C, a wet monsoon season (June–October) with heavy rainfall, and a cooler, drier winter (November–February) with temperatures between 10–25°C. The monsoon season brings significant rainfall and occasional flooding, particularly in low-lying areas.
Plug type(s) used in Bangladesh:
Tipping is appreciated and generally expected for good service.
Cash is widely used. Card acceptance is growing but not universal — carry both.
Keep copies of important documents separate from originals, avoid displaying valuables, and use registered taxis or ride-sharing apps rather than hailing cabs on the street. Stay aware of your surroundings in crowded markets and public transport, and register with your embassy before arrival. Traffic can be chaotic, so exercise caution when crossing streets and avoid traveling alone late at night.
