About Full-Time Internships Abroad Program
WorldStrides Full-Time Internships Abroad offer you the opportunity to build your professional skillset while immersing yourself in a new culture across Asia, Europe, and the Pacific. Whether you're interning in Valencia's innovative tech scene, Madrid's vibrant medical sector, Tokyo's sustainable development organizations, or Singapore's global business hub, you'll gain hands-on experience in your chosen field while developing in-demand, industry-specific skills. The program is designed around your career goals—during your personalized advising session, WorldStrides connects you with organizations that align with your aspirations, ensuring a meaningful work experience that extends far beyond typical internship duties.
Your internship experience goes beyond the job itself. You'll participate in guided cultural excursions and activities designed to help you explore your host community and meet locals, turning your semester or summer abroad into a truly immersive cross-cultural experience. The required International Internship Course supports your professional development by building real-world skills based on NACE Career Readiness Competencies and intercultural development. Through reflective coursework, you'll learn to articulate your transferable skills and prepare yourself to confidently discuss your experience in any future job interview, earning a Career Readiness Micro-Credential in the process.
WorldStrides handles the logistics so you can focus on your growth. Your program fee covers internship placement, advising and support, cultural activities, local team support, housing and internet, in-country orientation, 24/7 emergency assistance, international insurance, mental health support, and career resources. You choose your program length—semester or summer—and location from options including Spain (Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona), the United Kingdom (London), Ireland (Dublin), New Zealand (Auckland or Wellington), Japan (Tokyo), South Korea (Seoul), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi), Australia (Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, or Sydney), or Singapore.
If you need academic credit, WorldStrides offers multiple pathways. Through Summer 2026, you can earn a U.S. transcript from the University of South Florida (4-6 credits depending on hours worked); beginning Fall 2026, transcripts come from the University of Rhode Island. Alternatively, you can work with your home institution to receive credit. Placements are typically confirmed about four weeks before your program starts, with earlier confirmation for visa-requiring programs. The eligibility requirements are straightforward: you must be at least 18 years old by your program start date, a current university student in good academic standing or a recent graduate, and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
