About School of Record & Academic Credit Program
This page describes WorldStrides' School of Record framework rather than a specific study abroad program. WorldStrides operates several types of academic experiences—Global Campus programs, Internships, Community Engagement initiatives, and Veritas Christian Study Abroad—and has partnered with accredited institutions to ensure students receive official academic credit and transcripts. The University of South Florida (USF), a top-50 research university, serves as the School of Record for programs through August 2026, while the University of Rhode Island (URI), an R1-designated research institution, takes over this role beginning August 2026. California Baptist University partners with WorldStrides to sponsor Veritas Christian Study Abroad programs. If you're considering a WorldStrides program, you should know that most programs take place at accredited host universities abroad, but some are operated directly by WorldStrides to offer unique academic experiences unavailable elsewhere. The School of Record ensures academic quality by reviewing syllabi, approving courses, evaluating instructors, and determining course equivalencies. Transcripts issued by the School of Record are sent to your home university to facilitate credit transfer. For Global Campus and Study + Veritas programs, your transcript is included in your program price. If you're participating in an Internship or Community Engagement program, you have the option to earn academic credit for an additional fee. WorldStrides also emphasizes that all programs adhere to recognized standards of best practices in study abroad education, including standards for academic integrity, learning environments, health and safety, student conduct, and student learning outcomes. Before enrolling, you're encouraged to discuss your academic needs with your home university and obtain course approval to ensure credits will transfer.
