About Semester at The American College of Greece Program

Imagine spending a semester—or even a full academic year—living and learning in Athens, one of Europe's most historically rich capitals, where ancient ruins and lively street cafés exist side by side. At The American College of Greece (ACG), founded in 1875 and the oldest U.S.-accredited institution in Europe, you'll join a close-knit community of local and international students on a scenic 64-acre campus in the leafy Aghia Paraskevi neighborhood, with inspiring views of Mount Hymettus and easy metro access to the city center.

You'll choose from a wide variety of English-taught courses spanning the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Fine & Performing Arts, the School of Psychology & Human Development, and the School of Business. Popular subjects include business, psychology, international relations, communications, and visual and performing arts. If you're seeking an additional academic challenge, eligible students (3.5 GPA or higher) can enroll in ACG Honors Seminars. You are required to take 12–15 U.S. semester credits per semester (4–5 courses), and your ACG transcript will reflect U.S. semester credits to facilitate transfer back to your home institution.

You'll live in a fully-furnished off-campus apartment in the residential Aghia Paraskevi neighborhood, walking distance from local cafés, bakeries, and open-air markets. All utilities and internet are included. Beyond academics, you'll have access to world-class athletic facilities—including a fitness center, pool, and Olympic-quality track—and can join student clubs spanning music, media, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Curated excursions bring Greece to life: hike the cliffs of Meteora, explore ancient Delphi, sail to Hydra Island, visit the Acropolis, or catch the sunset at Cape Sounio.

From the moment you land, WorldStrides' experienced on-site team supports you every step of the way—airport reception, an in-depth orientation, 24/7 emergency assistance, mental health telehealth access, and a dedicated program manager before departure. International insurance is included in your program fee, which also covers tuition, housing, cultural activities, and excursions. You'll be responsible for flights, meals, books, personal spending, and travel insurance.

For students of faith, the Study + Veritas option lets you combine your academic experience with ministry service, faith-centered learning, and mentorship through Veritas Christian Study Abroad. You'll take an additional 3-credit online course through California Baptist University alongside your full-time ACG coursework. Whether you choose one semester, both semesters, or a full academic year, this program delivers a transformative blend of rigorous academics, immersive cultural experiences, and lifelong memories in the heart of Greece.
