About Spain Study Abroad Program Program
Experience Spain as a high school student on an immersive cultural exchange program designed for students aged 15–18. Choose your duration: a short 4–6 week White Christmas program (November–January) to taste Spanish culture and boost your language skills, a 3-month trimester, a 5-month semester, or a full 10–11 month academic year to achieve fluency and deep cultural integration.
You'll attend a public or private Spanish high school alongside local students, taking classes entirely in Spanish. School schedules vary by region—typically either 9 am–5 pm with a two-hour lunch break, or 9 am–2 pm without a lunch break. Unlike many school systems, students remain in the same classroom while teachers rotate, and there are no uniforms. You'll participate in extracurricular activities including sports, gymnastics, music, drawing, crafts, excursions, and sports competitions.
Live with a welcoming Spanish host family who will integrate you into their daily life. Spanish culture revolves around family, food, and connection. Your host mother will typically arrange activities and household decisions. You'll experience authentic Spanish dining customs—lunch from 2–3 pm and dinner from 9–10 pm—and be encouraged to try local specialties like tapas, churros with hot chocolate, and homemade paella. Afternoons and evenings offer time for homework, sports, flamenco classes, and quality time with your host family and their relatives.
This program is ideal if you want to become fluent in Spanish, immerse yourself in European culture, build lifelong friendships, and experience the warmth and vibrancy that defines Spanish life. Whether you're looking for a short cultural taste or a transformative year abroad, Spain offers the perfect backdrop for personal growth, language mastery, and unforgettable memories.
