Taught entirely in Spanish by local faculty, this accelerated course targets advanced-level speakers—those who have completed at least four semesters (or six quarters) of college-level Spanish, or who place at an equivalent level on a language assessment. Over two weeks, you will develop all four language competencies: listening comprehension, reading, oral expression, and written production, all aligned with the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The course, Advanced Spanish Language and Communicative Skills (SPA 300S), covers a rich curriculum spanning grammar, vocabulary, orthography, and socio-cultural content. Topics range from past tenses and the subjunctive mood to expressing hypotheses, conditions, desires, and cause-and-effect relationships. You will also engage with practical cultural content, including an academic survival guide for Spain and a guide to Sevillian customs—bridging language learning with real-world cultural understanding.
