About Two-Week Intensive Spanish Language Program
If you are serious about advancing your Spanish proficiency in a meaningful, immersive setting, the Two-Week Intensive Spanish Language program at the WorldStrides Global Campus in Seville, Spain is designed exactly for you. Taught entirely in Spanish by local faculty, this accelerated course targets advanced-level speakers—those who have completed at least four semesters (or six quarters) of college-level Spanish, or who place at an equivalent level on a language assessment. Over two weeks, you will develop all four language competencies: listening comprehension, reading, oral expression, and written production, all aligned with the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The course, Advanced Spanish Language and Communicative Skills (SPA 300S), covers a rich curriculum spanning grammar, vocabulary, orthography, and socio-cultural content. Topics range from past tenses and the subjunctive mood to expressing hypotheses, conditions, desires, and cause-and-effect relationships. You will also engage with practical cultural content, including an academic survival guide for Spain and a guide to Sevillian customs—bridging language learning with real-world cultural understanding. Attendance is mandatory (85% minimum), and active participation is a graded component, ensuring you are fully engaged in the learning process every day.
The WorldStrides Global Campus is located near Seville's iconic Plaza de España and Parque de María Luisa, placing you at the heart of one of Spain's most captivating cities. You will study alongside fellow WorldStrides students in small classes with personalized academic support. Upon completion, you will receive an official transcript from WorldStrides Higher Ed's school of record (University of Rhode Island beginning Fall 2026), earning 3 recommended U.S. semester credits (or 4 quarter credits). This program can be taken as a standalone intensive or added on to a semester or academic year abroad—if you pair it with a semester program, a welcome trip to Madrid and Toledo is included at no extra cost.
Your program fee covers tuition, housing, internet, cultural activities and excursions, airport reception, in-country orientation, local team support, international insurance, 24/7 emergency assistance, mental health support, and career resources. Housing options include a homestay with a local family—where you will share a room with another international student and receive three meals per day and weekly laundry service—or independent housing if you prefer to arrange your own accommodations. An experienced, English-speaking on-site team is available throughout your stay to help you navigate academic life, local culture, and any challenges that arise.
For students of faith, a Study + Veritas track is also available. This option adds a 1-credit online Global Ministry Practicum (HUM 490) taught by a Christian professor, along with mentorship and ministry service opportunities in Seville such as supporting local missionaries, serving through the local church, and engaging in refugee ministry. Whether you choose the standard or Veritas track, this intensive program is an unparalleled opportunity to sharpen your Spanish in the city that students themselves describe as having a special place in their hearts forever.
