Based in Vancouver, Canada, this program connects you with tailor-made internship placements in organizations that match your skills, academic requirements, and personal career goals. You'll gain invaluable international work experience that demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in new professional and cultural environments—qualities that employers worldwide value highly.
What sets this program apart is INTERNeX's personalized approach. Before your placement, you'll have Skype consultations to discuss your goals and expectations, receive resume review and upgrades if needed, and be carefully matched with an organization in your preferred field. The program recognizes that every participant is unique, and your placement will be crafted specifically for you. Upon arrival in Vancouver, you'll receive a comprehensive orientation covering essential country information and practical tips to ensure a smooth transition into both your workplace and your new community.
Throughout your stay, INTERNeX provides continuous support to help you succeed. You'll have access to a 24-hour emergency number, regular feedback and performance reviews, and dedicated program staff who are committed to your growth. Beyond the workplace, you'll become part of the international INTERNeX family and enjoy regular social activities including pub nights, weekend events, and organized trips with other program participants. This creates a supportive community of fellow participants navigating the same experience.
The program also offers optional homestay accommodation with Canadian families, allowing you to immerse yourself further in the local culture and build meaningful personal connections. Housing and all logistical arrangements are designed to help you focus on your professional development and personal growth. Whether you're seeking to build your career, develop cross-cultural competence, or simply challenge yourself in a new environment, this program offers the structure, support, and opportunities to make your international internship truly transformative.
To participate, you must be at least 18 years old, possess upper-intermediate English proficiency (6/10 level), demonstrate professional communication skills, and show flexibility and initiative. Travel insurance is required, and you'll need to be available for a Skype interview as part of the application process. This is your opportunity to gain experience that no classroom could provide and to discover capabilities within yourself you never knew existed.
