About Ranchstay Program
The Ranchstay Program by INTERNeX World invites you to step away from city life and immerse yourself in the authentic, rugged world of rural farming. Whether you dream of riding horses at dawn, driving a tractor across open fields, or tending to cattle under a wide-open sky, this program places you directly into a working family farm where every day brings something new and genuinely hands-on.
As a Ranchstay participant, you become a true member of the farming family rather than just a visitor. You'll pitch in with daily chores, feed animals, operate farm machinery, and take part in the full rhythm of agricultural life — all depending on the specific ranch you're matched with. INTERNeX works with a diverse range of family-run operations including horse farms, cattle ranches, agricultural farms, and mixed farms, giving you the ability to choose the experience that excites you most.
This program is as much a cultural exchange as it is a farming adventure. Your host family will bring you along to visit neighbours, attend community events like rodeos and local festivals, and participate in the everyday routines that define rural life. It's an honest, immersive glimpse into a lifestyle that most travelers never get to witness — demanding, rewarding, and deeply memorable.
INTERNeX handles the logistics so you can focus on the experience. They'll identify the closest airport for your arrival, arrange overnight accommodation in the city if needed, and provide a full pre-arrival schedule. You can even add a language course or join social activities — pub nights, hiking, sightseeing — in a nearby city before heading out to the farm. A pre-arrival Skype orientation ensures you arrive informed and prepared.
Support doesn't stop once you're on the ranch. INTERNeX acts as a mediator between you and your host family, follows up after your first days, and is reachable around the clock via a 24-hour emergency number. Your placement includes food and board on the ranch, as well as bedding and towels. To qualify, you must be at least 20 years old, physically fit, free of allergies or medical conditions that could interfere with farm work, and hold valid travel insurance. This program is ideal for adventurous, outdoorsy individuals who are ready to work hard and embrace a lifestyle far removed from the ordinary.
