About Budapest, Krakow, Vienna & Prague Program
Experience an unforgettable 13-day journey through four of Eastern Europe's most captivating imperial cities—Budapest, Krakow, Vienna, and Prague. This teen tour is designed for 9th and 10th graders seeking to venture off the beaten path and immerse themselves in the rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant cultures of this enchanting region.
Your adventure begins in Krakow, Poland's charming medieval city, where you'll explore the largest medieval town square in Europe and wander the colorful cobblestone streets. You'll participate in a hands-on pierogi cooking class to learn authentic Polish cuisine, visit the historically significant Jewish Quarter in Kazimierz, and take a sobering but important tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau to understand this critical chapter of World War II history. From there, you'll travel through picturesque Bohemian villages before arriving in Prague, a fairytale city that feels like stepping into a storybook. Traverse medieval streets to the Old Town Square and its famous Astronomical Clock, cross the iconic Charles Bridge with stunning river views, discover the John Lennon Wall, and explore the Prague Castle District with its impressive St. Vitus Cathedral and the charming "Golden Lane" of 15th-century artisan houses.
Vienna awaits with its elegant imperial heritage. You'll visit the lavish Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of Austrian emperors, get lost in its garden maze, and enjoy Vienna's world-famous chocolate cake and authentic apple strudel. A walking tour introduces you to Mozart's Opera House and the city's grandest architectural treasures. Your journey concludes in Budapest, one of Europe's most underrated beautiful cities. Experience the legendary thermal baths—the largest thermal spa in Europe—relax in outdoor pools surrounded by stunning Neo-Baroque architecture, and enjoy a guided bike tour through the castle district. For the adventurous, an optional add-on lets you explore Hungary's longest cave system through an exciting climbing and crawling adventure. End your trip with a dinner cruise along the Danube River and a visit to Gellert Hill for magnificent nighttime city views.
Throughout the program, you'll stay in centrally located, safe, and well-supervised family-run hotels within walking distance of main attractions. Travel between cities on Europe's modern trains, enjoy all breakfasts and dinners at authentic local restaurants, and benefit from experienced chaperones and local guides who ensure your safety while fostering friendships with fellow teen travelers from across the United States. This program balances structured cultural activities with free time to explore independently, creating an authentic experience where you truly eat, stay, and travel like a local. Past participants consistently praise the supportive counselors, instant friendships formed with other travelers, and the perfect balance of adventure, education, and relaxation—many report this trip inspires a lifelong passion for travel and cultural exploration.
