About Europe for Middle School: Amalfi Coast Explorer Program
Experience the magic of Italy's stunning Amalfi Coast on this week-long summer adventure designed specifically for middle school students. You'll be based in the beautiful cliffside town of Sorrento, staying in a charming family-run hotel with a rooftop terrace offering gorgeous views of the Bay of Naples. From here, you'll explore the most iconic destinations in southern Italy, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
During your seven days, you'll immerse yourself in authentic Italian culture and history. Walk the ancient streets of Pompeii, the remarkably preserved Roman city frozen in time by Mount Vesuvius's eruption nearly 2,000 years ago, where expert guides will bring history to life. Cruise down the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, stopping in picturesque Positano and Amalfi to swim in crystal-clear waters, dive near waterfalls, and explore secluded bays. You'll marvel at the pastel-painted villages clinging to the dramatic coastline and discover why the Amalfi Coast is one of Europe's most beloved vacation destinations.
Food is central to your experience—this is where authentic Italian pizza was invented, and you'll taste it fresh from wood-fired ovens in Naples. Enjoy traditional Italian specialties including gnocchi alla sorrentina, fresh caprese salad, and incredible seafood, along with gelato that will ruin you for dessert everywhere else. You'll also visit the National Archaeological Museum in Naples and explore the fascinating underground tunnels beneath the city, which have served purposes ranging from ancient Roman aqueducts to World War II bomb shelters.
On your final day before returning home, you'll take a scenic chairlift to the top of Capri's Mt. Solaro for breathtaking views and incredible photo opportunities, then celebrate with a fancy dinner overlooking the sunset with your new friends. Throughout the program, you'll be supervised by experienced chaperones and guides who prioritize your safety while staying in centrally located hotels within walking distance of main attractions.
The cost of $3,595 includes all ground transportation, accommodation in family-run hotels, chaperones and guides, program activities and admissions, taxes, tips, and all breakfasts and dinners. Airfare is additional. This immersive experience combines cultural exploration, historical discovery, beach relaxation, and authentic food experiences—making it the perfect introduction to Italian travel for middle schoolers seeking adventure and cultural enrichment.
