About Europe for Older Teens: Amsterdam, Munich, Swiss Alps & Venice Program

Experience authentic European travel as a high school student on this 13-day journey through four countries—the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. This program is designed specifically for older teens (grades 11-12) who want to develop real travel skills and independence before heading into the world. You'll travel by Eurail pass like a true backpacker, staying in carefully selected family-run hotels in city centers rather than impersonal chains, and eating where locals eat rather than at tourist traps.

Your adventure begins in Amsterdam, where you'll explore the city's iconic canals by foot and bicycle, visit the Van Gogh Museum, and reflect on history at the Anne Frank House. From there, you'll travel to Munich to experience authentic Bavarian culture, including a dinner at a traditional beer hall. You'll visit the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle and swim in alpine lakes, all while learning about the region's history.

The Swiss Alps section is where adventure truly comes alive. Based at a traditional mountain chalet with private balconies overlooking stunning peaks, you'll mountain bike through alpine trails, hike with professional guides while sampling authentic Swiss cheese from a local family farm, conquer a high ropes course, and go canyoneering—climbing, sliding, and jumping through natural rock formations and waterfalls. A day trip to Montreux includes visiting a 12th-century château perched on Lake Geneva and swimming in its pristine alpine waters.

Your journey concludes in Venice, where you'll experience the magic of the floating city. You'll wander tangled streets, marvel at Renaissance palaces lining the Grand Canal, visit St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace, watch live glass-blowing demonstrations on the island of Murano, and ride a gondola to live out your Italian dream. Throughout the program, you'll be supported by experienced chaperones and local guides who give you the independence you crave while keeping everyone safe.

This program includes all ground transportation, accommodation, meals (breakfast and dinner), activities, admissions, and professional guides. You'll return home not just with unforgettable memories, but with genuine confidence as a traveler and a strong case of wanderlust for your next adventure.
