About Fiji Ultimate Service and Adventure Program
Join Travel For Teens on an unforgettable 17-day service and adventure program to the Yasawa Islands of Fiji, where you'll combine meaningful community work with thrilling island exploration. This extended program offers you up to 40 hours of community service credit while immersing yourself in authentic Fijian culture far from typical tourist routes.
Your experience begins in Nadi on Viti Levu, where you'll shake off jet lag with beach exploration and sand dune hikes. Then you'll ferry to Nacula Island, one of the furthest and least-visited islands in the chain, where you'll spend several days volunteering at a local elementary school. Working alongside a marine biologist and Fijian educators, you'll help renovate school facilities, coordinate games with local students, participate in cultural exchanges through songs and dances, and attend a touching farewell assembly. Day trips to neighboring villages let you connect with local families and experience the rhythm of "Fiji time."
Your second service focus moves to Drawaqa Island—nicknamed "Manta Island"—where you'll participate in hands-on marine ecosystem maintenance. Under expert guidance, you'll learn coral reef restoration techniques and assist with coral planting, fish identification, fish surveying, and potentially a special manta ray project. The program utilizes the island's classroom and lab to deepen your understanding of marine conservation.
Beyond service work, you'll experience Fiji's natural wonders and rich culture. Prepare an authentic lovo (traditional earth oven feast), participate in a kava ceremony, learn Fijian songs and dances, snorkel and scuba dive vibrant coral reefs teeming with exotic marine life, swim with manta rays and reef sharks (with expert guides), kayak through turquoise waters, hike to stunning sunrise and sunset viewpoints, and zip-line through jungles and cave systems. Your final days include a thrilling zip-line tour and relaxation at natural hot springs.
Accommodation includes a beachfront hotel in Nadi Bay and three rustic, water-front island resorts—authentic local properties with simple facilities and no guarantee of air conditioning or constant electricity, preparing you for the realities of traveling to an underdeveloped region. All meals, ground transportation, chaperones, guides, and program activities are included in tuition. Travel For Teens' small group sizes and knowledgeable, enthusiastic leaders ensure cultural immersion rather than tourist experiences, fostering lifelong friendships with both peers and locals while building confidence, independence, and a broadened global perspective.
