About France Explorer Program
Experience the magic of France on this 8-day summer adventure designed for high school students in grades 9-12. Your journey begins in Paris, the City of Light, where you'll climb the iconic Eiffel Tower, explore the world-renowned Louvre Museum to see the Mona Lisa, stroll the elegant Champs-Élysées, and cruise down the Seine at twilight to watch the tower sparkle. You'll savor authentic French cuisine—fresh crêpes in Montmartre, fondue dinners in the Latin Quarter, and ham-and-cheese baguettes—while experiencing the city like a local through guided walking tours. Marvel at historic landmarks including Notre Dame Cathedral, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Musée d'Orsay, then wander through charming neighborhoods and the lush Tuileries Gardens.
After Paris, you'll take a high-speed train to Nice, the jewel of the French Riviera, where you'll spend two days relaxing on pristine Mediterranean beaches and exploring the vibrant Old Town. Visit the medieval village of Èze perched on a hilltop, tour a famous perfume factory, and soak in some of Europe's most stunning coastal views. This is your chance to discover why this region has inspired artists for generations and remains a favorite destination for travelers seeking authentic French charm.
Throughout the program, you'll stay in centrally located, safe, and well-supervised accommodations—small, family-run hotels in the heart of Paris's 9th Arrondissement near the Opera House and in Nice's historical quarter. All breakfasts and dinners are included, featuring authentic local cuisine that accommodates all dietary needs, from vegetarian and vegan to gluten-free options. You'll benefit from experienced chaperones, local guides, and the expertise of Travel for Teens, which has decades of history leading Paris programs and has cultivated strong relationships with local vendors and businesses for insider access.
This program is ideal for students seeking an unforgettable European summer that blends iconic city exploration with relaxed coastal living. You'll make new friends from around the world, create lasting memories, and discover French culture in a way you never thought possible. The experience includes ground transportation, all program-related activities and admissions, taxes, and tips. Optional group flights are available from New York (JFK) to Paris (CDG) outbound and Nice (NCE) to New York (JFK) on return. Note that lunches, visas, personal expenses, and airfare are not included in the base tuition.
