About France: French Language Immersion (21 Days) Program
Spend three weeks immersed in French language and culture on this intensive program based in Paris with an extension to the French Riviera. You'll attend 30 hours of French language classes at the ELFE Language School in the mornings, with classes tailored to your proficiency level—whether you're a complete beginner or advanced speaker. In the afternoons and evenings, you'll practice your French in real-world situations by exploring Paris's iconic neighborhoods, chatting with shopkeepers at local markets, ordering food at authentic bistros, and participating in scavenger hunts designed to reinforce classroom learning.
Your first two weeks are based in Paris's vibrant 9th Arrondissement, where you'll stay in a boutique hotel steps from major attractions. You'll visit world-class museums including the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay, explore historic sites like the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Palace of Versailles, wander through artistic neighborhoods like Montmartre where Van Gogh and Picasso once worked, and experience Parisian café culture firsthand. An optional day trip via the Channel Tunnel takes you to London for a cross-cultural perspective.
In your final four days, you'll travel by high-speed train to Nice on the French Riviera, where you'll exchange urban exploration for coastal charm. You'll stroll through the medieval old town (Vieux Nice), relax on pristine beaches, visit the famous film festival city of Cannes, explore the artistic hilltop villages of Èze and St. Paul de Vence, and take a day trip to Monaco to see where Europe's wealthy elite play. Your experience culminates in an elegant dinner by the Mediterranean.
Throughout the program, you'll stay in safe, centrally located accommodations in both cities—smaller, family-run hotels rather than impersonal chains. All breakfasts and dinners are included, featuring authentic French cuisine from fondue to escargot to fresh pastries. The program is led by experienced bilingual staff who supervise all activities and cultural experiences. This is ideal for high school students (grades 9–12) seeking a meaningful language immersion that goes far beyond traditional summer camps, offering genuine cultural exchange and the chance to discover French joie de vivre.
