About Full Time Internship Berlin Program
Spend a transformative semester interning in Berlin, Germany's vibrant capital and one of Europe's most innovative cities. This 12-week full-time internship program (January 31 – April 23, 2027) places you in a guaranteed position within your chosen career field while you experience one of the world's most culturally rich and historically significant cities. Berlin's booming economy spans business, marketing, startups, technology, media, and logistics industries, offering you real professional experience in a forward-thinking international environment.
You'll live independently in a shared apartment with other AIFS Abroad participants, centrally located near public transportation. The program covers your housing, local transportation pass, and includes internet access, allowing you to focus on your internship and cultural immersion. AIFS Abroad's experienced team works with you one-on-one to understand your skills, career goals, and language proficiency, ensuring a meaningful placement that aligns with your professional aspirations. Once matched, you'll interview with your manager before confirming your position, and on-site coordinators will support you throughout your internship with regular check-ins and career coaching.
Beyond your internship desk, you'll engage with Berlin's striking contrasts—from classical opera houses to cutting-edge architecture, from exquisite museums to bustling traditional markets. The program includes day trips to Potsdam (UNESCO World Heritage site with fairytale gardens and palaces) and Quedlinburg (a medieval gem in the Harz mountains), plus optional excursions to Warsaw, Poland. Weekly cultural activities, social events, and a guided walking tour give you insider knowledge of the city's complex history, from the reunification after the Berlin Wall to its role as a center of European politics and culture.
The AIFS Abroad Global Career Readiness Program complements your internship with professional development including the CliftonStrengthsFinder assessment, one-on-one career coaching, interview preparation, and networking events. You'll earn optional 3-credit academic credit through Fairfield University's School of Record, allowing you to apply your experience toward graduation requirements. The program fee of $10,490 includes guaranteed placement, housing, cultural activities, excursions, 24/7 emergency support, comprehensive insurance, and pre-departure and upon-return services. Optional round-trip flights from 25 U.S. cities range from $1,720–$2,120, and a free Eurail Global Pass (valued near $500) is included for sustainable travel across Europe.
