You'll work full-time in a dynamic professional environment while living in a city famous for its flamenco venues, tapas culture, and rich Moorish heritage. Seville's historic center features the stunning Real Alcázar (Royal Palace), the world's largest Gothic cathedral, and charming neighborhoods like the Barrio Santa Cruz. The city hosts thousands of businesses and NGOs across diverse sectors, making it an ideal hub for developing foundational professional skills and building your international resume.

The program supports your success from start to finish. AIFS Abroad's placement process begins with a personalized assessment of your academic background, career goals, language proficiency, and professional expectations. Once matched with an employer, you'll interview by phone or Zoom before the placement is confirmed. Throughout your semester, an on-site Director and Internship Coach provide regular check-ins and support to help you thrive in your role. You'll also participate in the award-winning Global Career Readiness Program, which includes the CliftonStrengthsFinder assessment, one-on-one career coaching, interview preparation, and on-site networking events.

Your housing options include a homestay with a Spanish family—widely regarded as the most immersive and rewarding choice—or an apartment in a student residence with other AIFS Abroad participants. Homestays provide three meals daily, laundry service, and authentic cultural integration; apartments offer private rooms, kitchens, and amenities like a gym, pool, and 24/7 security. All housing includes internet access. Beyond your internship, you'll enjoy included day trips to ancient Cádiz and the mountain towns of Ronda, plus optional 3-day excursions to Granada and Córdoba, Lisbon and Sintra in Portugal, or Morocco. The program offers optional academic credit through Fairfield University (our School of Record), allowing you to earn credit toward graduation and potentially access financial aid. You can earn a 3-credit International Internship course at no additional fee, with the option to add further credits for a supplementary fee. All participants receive 24/7 emergency support, comprehensive health insurance, and carbon offsetting for their flights.
