They then match you with a dynamic employer in fields like business, fashion, marketing, media, communications, digital marketing, finance, law, graphic design, video production, museums/galleries, or government/policy. You'll interview with your manager before the placement is confirmed, ensuring a strong fit. The program guarantees an internship placement once you're accepted—this isn't a program where you search for your own position.

Beyond the internship itself, AIFS Abroad provides an award-winning Global Career Readiness Program designed to connect your academic knowledge with your professional ambitions. You'll complete the CliftonStrengthsFinder® assessment, receive one-on-one career coaching, prepare for interviews, attend on-site career seminars, and access networking events and leadership training opportunities. This holistic approach ensures you're not just working, but actively developing as a professional and preparing for your post-college career.

Your housing is in a centrally located student residence just one minute's walk from public transportation, shops, restaurants, and nightlife. You'll share a twin or bunk room with an ensuite bathroom, and the residence features a full kitchen, student lounge with smart TVs, a study room, 24/7 front desk service, and security. The inclusive program fee covers all of this plus weekly cultural and social activities led by knowledgeable local staff, day trips to iconic sites like Coney Island and Philadelphia, and access to excursions designed to deepen your understanding of American culture and history.

You can earn optional academic credit for your internship—a 3-credit International Internship course is available, with additional courses available for an additional fee. All credits are issued through Fairfield University, AIFS Abroad's School of Record, allowing you to apply credit toward graduation at many institutions and potentially access existing financial aid.
