About Greece & Croatia Island Hopping Program
Embark on an unforgettable 24-day summer adventure combining the ancient history and classic beauty of Greece with the off-the-beaten-path adventure of Croatia's Dalmatian Coast. This program is designed for 9th and 10th grade students who want to experience the best of both worlds, from the ancient ruins of Athens to crystal-clear island waters and private sailboat excursions.
Your journey begins in Athens, where you'll step back almost 4,000 years in time to explore the birthplace of Western civilization. You'll climb the Acropolis for a close-up look at the Parthenon, one of the world's most spectacular ancient ruins, and wander through the charming Plaka district. A highlight of your Athens experience is a traditional cooking lesson in the culinary heart of the city and a Greek coffee tasting at a local shop—exclusive activities that Travel For Teens offers through strong local connections. You'll also visit the Ancient Agora, the Pnyx where democracy was born, and enjoy authentic Greek cuisine featuring fresh local ingredients.
Next, you'll travel by ferry across turquoise Mediterranean waters to the Greek islands, starting with Paros, an island famous in ancient times for its immaculate white marble. You'll explore traditional island life, hike the historical Byzantine road for stunning views of the Cycladic landscape, and enjoy beach volleyball and swimming in crystal blue waters. From there, you'll visit Naxos, the largest island in the Cyclades, with its endless golden sand dunes and hidden gems of the Small Cyclades—islands that have remained largely untouched by tourism. Your Greek island experience culminates in Santorini, the world's premier luxury travel destination, where you'll marvel at whitewashed homes, iconic blue-domed churches, iconic postcard-perfect town of Oia, and the island's dramatic black sand beaches. You'll have the option to take a scuba-diving class in these pristine waters.
The adventure shifts to Croatia, where you'll spend a week island-hopping on a private sailboat—your home for this portion of the trip. You don't need sailing experience; you can either relax and soak up the Adriatic journey or learn the fundamentals of sailing from a professional skipper. You'll glide through aquamarine waters, stopping at secluded snorkeling spots, private beaches, and docking near a different island each night. Before setting sail, you'll explore Split, surrounded by the ancient Diocletian's Palace, and take a day trip to the spectacular Krka Waterfalls. During your week at sea, you'll visit tiny islands like Vis, Hvar, Brac, Korčula, and Mljet, discovering the Dalmatian Coast like a local. You'll stargaze and sleep on the boat's top deck under a dazzling night sky.
Your final days are spent in picturesque Dubrovnik, the "Pearl of the Adriatic," where you'll explore cobblestoned streets, relax on Banje Beach, and experience the laid-back Dalmatian culture. A unique highlight includes a Game of Thrones film location tour where you can sit on the Iron Throne. You'll also visit nearby Lokrum Island for hiking, beach time, and stand-up paddleboarding, and capture breathtaking sunset photos from atop Mt. Srd.
Your tuition includes ground transportation, accommodation in centrally located, safe, family-run hotels and on the private sailboat, chaperones and guides, all program-related activities and admissions, taxes and tips, and all breakfasts and dinners. Travel For Teens prides itself on giving each student a unique, personalized experience they couldn't get anywhere else, with small group sizes and customizable activities ensuring you make the most of these two stunning European destinations.
