About Greece & Italy: Island Service Program
Join this transformative 13-day summer service program that combines meaningful volunteer work with cultural exploration across two of Europe's most captivating destinations. Your adventure begins on the Greek island of Corfu, where you'll spend your mornings performing community service projects tailored to local needs—whether that's working at a food bank, clothing donation center, or participating in beach cleanups. You'll earn up to 15 hours of service credit while making a real impact on communities that need it. Your afternoons and evenings are filled with island exploration: snorkel or scuba dive in crystal-clear Mediterranean waters, explore historic castles, participate in authentic Greek cooking lessons where you'll learn to prepare traditional dishes, and shop at local boutiques.
From Greece, you'll fly to Italy to experience the Amalfi Coast and ancient Rome. Your time in Sorrento includes a spectacular private boat cruise along the stunning Amalfi Coast, where you'll discover the pastel-painted towns of Positano and Amalfi nestled against dramatic cliffsides. Stop to swim in secluded bays and waterfalls before spending time exploring charming coastal villages. You'll visit the iconic island of Capri, where you can shop in upscale boutiques, hike around the craggy coastline, and ride a scenic chairlift to Mt. Solaro for breathtaking Mediterranean vistas.
In Rome, your expert guides bring history to life as you explore some of the world's most important monuments. Walk through the ancient Colosseum and Roman Forum, cross the Tiber to Vatican City to marvel at St. Peter's Basilica and the awe-inspiring Sistine Chapel ceiling, and discover the Pantheon. You'll wander through the hip neighborhood of Trastevere, indulge in authentic Italian cuisine including fresh pasta and wood-fired pizza, toss a coin into the legendary Trevi Fountain, and finish your adventure with a spectacular Roman banquet on the historic Appian Way.
Throughout the program, you'll stay in carefully selected, centrally-located hotels that are safe, well-supervised, and chosen for their proximity to attractions and local charm. Your tuition covers all ground transportation, accommodations, meals (breakfasts and dinners), chaperones, guides, and program activities. Travel For Teens maintains small groups and expert leadership to ensure you have a transformative experience that goes beyond typical tourism. Whether you're serving your community, swimming in Mediterranean waters, exploring ancient ruins, or savoring authentic Italian gelato, this program offers the memories and personal growth that will inspire future service and cultural engagement.
