About Iceland Teen Adventure Program Program
Join Travel For Teens' Iceland Adventure and experience one of the world's most spectacular destinations through the eyes of a true traveler. Over 13 days this summer, you'll embark on an epic road trip around Iceland's entire Ring Road, discovering the raw natural beauty that makes this Nordic island one of Earth's most awe-inspiring places.
Your adventure begins in Reykjavik, Iceland's vibrant capital, where you'll explore funky street art, artisan boutiques, and local food markets before heading out to the country's most iconic natural landmarks. You'll stand in awe at Gullfoss Waterfall in Thingvellir National Park, watch the Strokkur Geyser erupt like clockwork every 10 minutes, and soak in natural hot springs—including the world-famous Blue Lagoon. For the more adventurous, you can snorkel in the Silfra Fissure where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are literally separating, with visibility stretching 300 feet down into some of the world's clearest water.
As you continue east along Iceland's dramatic coastline, you'll witness black sand beaches, towering sea cliffs home to thousands of puffins, and thundering waterfalls at every turn. The adventure intensifies when you reach Vatnajokull, Europe's largest glacier—where you have the option to strap on crampons and an ice pick to climb the glacier yourself and see otherworldly ice formations at the summit. You'll explore the Jokulsarlon lagoon filled with floating icebergs, watch for seals in the water, and ride gentle Icelandic horses with local families in the majestic Eastfjords. A kayak journey to a shipwreck in the fishing village of Seydisfjordur and a whale-watching cruise in northern Iceland round out your wildlife experiences.
Throughout the journey, you'll stay in small, family-run guesthouses and hostels chosen for their authentic character and safety, eat like a local at restaurants where Icelanders actually gather, and travel with a carefully selected group of 13-24 peers from around the world. Your staff includes experienced trip directors and counselors who bring deep knowledge of Iceland, passion for teen travel, and a commitment to making you feel supported every step of the way. Whether you're traveling solo (over 75% of participants do) or with a friend, this program is designed to push you outside your comfort zone, forge genuine friendships, and return home with a transformed perspective on adventure travel.
This is not a typical tourist experience—it's an immersive journey into one of the planet's most untouched and geologically dramatic countries, perfectly paced to balance exploration, education about Icelandic culture and landscape, and unforgettable adventure activities that will stay with you for years.
