About Scandinavia Adventure: Norway, Denmark, Sweden & Finland Program
Join this 15-day summer adventure through four Nordic countries, where you'll experience some of Europe's most spectacular landscapes and vibrant cities. This program is designed specifically for high school students (grades 9-12) who want to combine outdoor adventure with cultural exploration in one of the world's most fascinating regions.
Your journey begins on Norway's rugged west coast in Bergen, where you'll explore the UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf—a centuries-old harbor district that tells the story of Nordic maritime history. You'll hunt for trolls on Mt. Løyen, sample the freshest seafood at the central Fish Market, and then head inland to Voss for the program's most adrenaline-pumping activities: tackling a high ropes course and white-water rafting class 3-4 rapids down the mighty Stranda River. Your evenings are spent stargazing at a lakeside accommodation on beautiful Lake Vangsvatnet, where you can relax in wood-fired saunas and jacuzzis.
The adventure continues to Oslo, where you'll explore the harborside capital's trendy neighborhoods like Grünerløkka and Aker Brygge, cruise the Oslo fjord with stops at island picnic spots and a 12th-century tower, and dive into the world-famous museums dedicated to Nordic sea and polar exploration. Next, you'll cycle through Copenhagen like a local, led by a native guide, dipping in the river at Islands Brygge and savoring smørrebrød (traditional open sandwiches) at food halls. You'll experience the magic of Tivoli Gardens, the second-oldest operating amusement park in the world, which inspired Walt Disney and Hans Christian Andersen themselves.
In Stockholm, you'll wander the cobblestoned streets of Gamla Stan, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval city centers, visit Skansen (the world's oldest open-air museum), and marvel at the Vasa—the only preserved 17th-century warship. The program concludes in Helsinki, where you'll explore the world's most livable city by visiting the stunning cathedral, world-class museums, and participate in a TFT classic ghost tour diving into Finnish urban legends. Your final evening features a traditional Finnish sauna and a fancy dinner with your newfound friends.
Throughout the program, you'll stay in carefully selected, family-run hotels in safe, centrally located areas within walking distance of main attractions—not impersonal chain hotels on the outskirts. Your tuition includes all ground transportation, accommodations, meals (breakfast and dinner daily), chaperones and local guides, and all program activities and admissions. You'll eat like a local, experiencing authentic Norwegian seafood, Danish delicacies, Swedish meatballs, and New Nordic cuisine at establishments where locals actually eat. The program accommodates dietary restrictions including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. This is the perfect balance of outdoor adventure, cultural immersion, and authentic travel experiences for teens seeking an unforgettable European summer.
