About South Africa Service & Safari Program
Join this transformative 17-day summer program combining meaningful community service with thrilling wildlife adventures across South Africa's most iconic destinations. You'll spend your days building a playground at a local school in the Wild Coast region of the Eastern Cape, earning up to 20 hours of community service while forming genuine connections with the people you're helping. This isn't just volunteer work—it's a chance to see firsthand the real impact you can make on a community in need.
Beyond the service project, you'll experience the full spectrum of South Africa's natural wonders. Your journey begins in Cape Town, where you'll hike Table Mountain, visit the African Penguins at Boulders Beach, and marvel at the dramatic cliffs of Cape Point. From there, you'll travel along the legendary Garden Route to Sedgefield, where pristine beaches, lakes, and sand dunes await. In Stormsriver, you'll go whale-watching and hike the spectacular Robberg Peninsula. The adventure culminates in Kruger National Park, one of the world's largest game reserves, where experienced guides will take you on game drives to spot the Big Five—elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo—alongside countless other species in their natural habitat.
You'll stay in centrally located, safe, and well-supervised accommodations in each city, with experienced chaperones and local guides supporting you throughout. Your tuition covers all ground transportation, accommodations, meals (all breakfasts, 11 lunches, and dinners), and program activities and admissions. The program welcomes students from around the world in grades 9–12 and is designed for those seeking adventure, cultural immersion, and meaningful contribution. Past participants consistently return home with increased confidence, greater self-awareness, and a renewed passion for volunteering as part of their life goals. This is an opportunity to push your boundaries, connect with nature on an epic scale, and discover what it truly means to make a difference.
