About Study Abroad in Grenoble, France - Grenoble École de Management Spring Program
Experience a transformative semester in Grenoble, France, a picturesque city nestled in the heart of the Alps and known as the "Capital of the Alps." This AIFS Abroad program places you at Grenoble École de Management, one of Europe's best business schools and one of only 1% worldwide to hold the triple crown of business accreditations (AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS). You'll spend January through April 2027 immersed in French culture while earning up to 15 semester credits through a carefully curated selection of courses taught in English.
Choose between two specialized tracks: Business Studies, which focuses on core business areas like accounting, marketing, and management, or International Business Studies, which explores business through a global lens. All students take a French language course (available at four levels from Beginner through Advanced) alongside five required business courses covering topics such as entrepreneurship, economics, marketing, business law, and political science. Classes meet Monday through Friday, allowing you to balance rigorous academics with exploration of your surroundings.
Your housing options reflect different lifestyle preferences: stay with a carefully selected homestay family to gain intimate insight into French culture and practice French daily, or choose independent living in a centrally located student residence with French and international peers. All housing includes internet access, and the program provides a transportation pass for Grenoble's excellent bus and tram system. The inclusive program fee covers tuition, housing, meals (breakfast and dinner daily in homestay), 24/7 emergency support, comprehensive insurance, and carbon offsetting for your flights.
Beyond the classroom, you'll participate in a rich cultural calendar of weekly activities and social events organized by the local AIFS Abroad staff. These include welcome and farewell dinners, guided walking tours of Grenoble, visits to the Musée de Grenoble and other museums, excursions to the Chartreuse distillery, conversation exchanges with French students, and hiking in the surrounding mountains. The Spring semester features an optional Alpine Weekend excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Briançon, complete with snow shoeing, hot springs, and resort accommodations. Grenoble's proximity to world-class skiing means you can enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding less than an hour from town, with lessons and equipment rentals available at reasonable costs.
The program is designed for juniors and seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA who have completed at least 60 U.S. credits (applicants with 2.75+ GPA are considered case-by-case). You'll receive support from an on-site Program Director, access to the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment for personal and professional development, and connection to a global alumni network. AIFS Abroad also assists with visa applications and offers optional flight packages from 25 U.S. gateways, as well as a complimentary Eurail Global Pass (valued near $500). Whether you're seeking to advance your business education, deepen your French language skills, or simply experience life as a student in the French Alps, this program offers an intellectually rigorous and culturally enriching semester abroad.
