About Study and Intern Abroad in London, England | Fall Semester Program
Imagine spending a fall semester in one of the world's most dynamic and culturally rich cities—London. This AIFS Abroad program offers you the chance to study in a global education center located in the prestigious Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, surrounded by iconic institutions like the British Museum, Natural History Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. You'll take courses that explore British history, culture, art, architecture, economics, and politics while gaining insights into how London shapes global business, fashion, and media.
You have flexibility in how you structure your semester. On the Multi Discipline track, you can take up to five courses (up to 15 credits) across humanities, social sciences, business, arts, fashion, and more—many designed specifically to take advantage of London's world-class resources and cultural institutions. If you want practical experience, the Study + Internship option combines two regular courses with a mandatory seminar and a part-time internship (90-135 hours) in your field, giving you real workplace exposure in a global center of finance, fashion, and media. For those seeking deeper academic engagement, the London Honors Experience connects you with local research institutions and culminates in a research proposal presentation.
Your semester includes far more than classes. You'll live in a student residence with other participants, explore London's renowned Underground transit system (pass included), and participate in dozens of cultural activities—from guided walking tours of neighborhoods like Brick Lane to West End theater performances, museum visits, and afternoon tea experiences. Day trips take you beyond the city to Stonehenge, Cambridge, and the picturesque Cotswolds. The AIFS Abroad on-site director and staff provide one-on-one academic advising, mental health support (the director is a Mental Health First Aider), and help you navigate both academic and personal challenges. Academic credit is awarded by Fairfield University, a fully accredited institution, so your coursework transfers seamlessly back home.
This program is designed for high school graduates through seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA. You'll gain international work experience, test potential career paths, develop professional skills, and deepen your understanding of British culture and global perspectives. Whether you're interested in business, arts, humanities, or social sciences, London offers unparalleled access to museums, galleries, theaters, historic sites, and organizations working across nearly every sector. By the end of your semester, you'll have academic credits, real professional experience, new friendships across cultures, and a profound understanding of what it means to live and work in a truly global city.
