About Study + Internship | London – Fall 2026 Program
If you're looking to gain real-world professional experience while immersing yourself in one of the most dynamic cities on the planet, the AIFS Abroad Study + Internship program in London is designed for you. Based at the AIFS Abroad Global Education Center (GEC) in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, you'll take two 3-credit academic courses from a wide range of disciplines alongside the required HIST/SOC 335 British Life and Culture course (3 credits) and a 3-credit internship in your chosen field — earning up to 12 semester credits in total. All students enroll in INTN 310 International Internship in London, which includes 15 contact hours of seminars and workshops plus 90–135 hours of supervised, individually tailored unpaid work placement in a London-based organization. Academic credit is awarded through Fairfield University, a fully accredited private Jesuit institution and member of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
London is a global center of finance, fashion, media, and culture, making it one of the richest cities in the world for professional internship placements. Working side by side with local professionals gives you first-hand insight into a multicultural and interdependent workplace, helping you test career paths, develop transferable skills, and build an international professional network before you graduate. Internships are part-time and individually tailored — AIFS Abroad starts by getting to know your strengths and career goals so that your placement is meaningful and relevant to your future.
The GEC classrooms are within walking distance of Hyde Park, Kensington Palace, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Your program fee includes a London Transport travel pass so you can explore the city's world-renowned Underground network and beyond. Housing is in student residences within easy reach of the GEC, featuring shared kitchens, common areas, and internet access. On-site Program Director Heather Lees and a team of Student Advisors are available throughout your stay to offer academic advice, personal support, and community connections — and Heather is a certified Mental Health First Aider.
Beyond the classroom and your internship, AIFS Abroad staff organize an extensive calendar of cultural and social activities to deepen your understanding of British life. Included highlights range from guided walking tours (food, fashion, LGBTQI+, street art), West End theater performances, visits to the Houses of Parliament, a boat trip along the River Thames, and a traditional Sunday roast, to tickets for football, cricket, or rugby. Included excursions for the Fall semester feature Stonehenge & Salisbury and Cambridge, with an optional three-day Scotland Highland tour (estimated $745) also available. A free Eurail Global Pass (near $500 value) is currently offered as a promotional bonus.
The program runs September 4 – December 4, 2026, and is open to students from high school graduates through seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Please note that a student visa is required for this program, and AIFS Abroad will guide you through the process once your final payment is received. The inclusive program fee of $19,990 covers tuition, housing, excursions, cultural activities, a travel pass, 24/7 emergency support, comprehensive insurance, and access to the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment and AIFS Abroad alumni network. An optional round-trip flight package from 25 U.S. gateways is also available. The application deadline is June 1, 2026, with scholarships available for applications submitted by April 15, 2026.
